This is the SOLAM family.
A community of fourteen brothers and sisters of Masjid Daarus-Salaam, walking together toward owning land, lifting each other in hard seasons, and lending without riba. Built on shura, sealed by amanah.

Who we are
A small circle. A long horizon.
SOLAM began in May 2026, when fourteen of us — friends from Masjid Daarus-Salaam in Gulu — sat together after Maghrib and agreed: we will save together, we will not borrow with riba, and we will not let any one of us fall alone.
We are not a bank. We are not a charity. We are a cohort — small enough that every name is known, every voice is heard, and every shilling is accounted for.
"The believers, in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion, are like one body — when a limb suffers, the whole body responds."
— Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim
The land project
Twelve months. One plot. Fourteen shares.
Each month, every member contributes UGX 100,000 to a single dedicated land fund. After the twelve-month cycle, the group purchases land that is then sub-divided equally among all members — yours, your children's, your grand-children's, insha’Allah.
- Land cycle: May 2026 → May 2027
- Target pool: UGX 8,000,000
- Every payment auto-generates a numbered receipt
Munomukabi — the welfare fund
When one of us is shaken, the rest steady the ground.
A weekly contribution of UGX 4,000 builds a standing fund — Munomukabi — drawn on for the moments life doesn't warn us about:
- Bereavement — when a parent, spouse or child passes
- Sickness or hospitalisation
- Marriage — a contribution to your nikah
- Child birth & Aqiqah
- Ramadan support — for households that need it
- Sadaqah — community giving in someone's name
Requests are reviewed by the Welfare Officer and Executive Committee, with care for the dignity of the member.
Qard Hasan — the beautiful loan
Borrow only what you'll repay. Repay exactly what you borrowed.
From May 2027, after the land cycle is complete, members may apply for Qard Hasan — an interest-free loan from the group, backed by at least two guarantors from within the cohort.
No interest. No service fees. No hidden cost. Repay the exact amount borrowed, on the timeline you agreed to. The fund grows in barakah, not in riba.
What we stand on
تعاون
Ta’awun
Cooperation in righteousness — never alone, never abandoned.
أمانة
Amanah
Trustworthiness — every shilling is logged, every action audited.
شورى
Shura
Consultation — no decision of substance without the group.
بركة
Barakah
Blessing — we choose growth without riba, and trust the outcome to Allah.
Your first year, step by step
A guided rhythm — no mystery, no surprises
1
Join & receive your number
Pay the UGX 20,000 joining fee. The portal issues your member ID (e.g. SOLAM/M/0007) and a receipt that lives in your dashboard forever.
2
Contribute monthly
Send UGX 100,000 for land and UGX 4,000 weekly for welfare. The Treasurer records it; the Auditor verifies it; you see it on your phone.
3
Ask when you need
Loss in the family? Hospital bill? Marriage approaching? Submit a welfare request in three taps. The Executive reviews with discretion and decides quickly.
4
Year two: own land & access loans
After the land cycle closes, you receive your share. From then on, Qard Hasan is available for genuine needs — no interest, fellow members as guarantors.
What's inside the portal
Built for your phone first. Install it like an app and forget you're using a website.
Live progress to the land target
See your personal share and the group's pool grow week by week — a quiet motivator every time you open the app.
Auto-numbered receipts
No paper, no "I forgot to write it down". Every payment generates a SOLAM receipt you can show anyone, anytime.
Gentle reminders
The 25th and 28th. Every Friday. 24 hours before a meeting. Three days before a loan is due. We remind you so you don't have to remember.
Meeting hub
Upcoming meetings, agendas, attendance, and minutes — all in one place. Never miss a shura.
Private welfare requests
Submit confidentially. Only the Welfare Officer and Executive see the details — the rest of the group sees only the outcome.
Audit trail you can trust
Every action is logged, time-stamped, and immutable. Trust is not asked for — it is earned by the receipts.
Your Executive Committee
Seven offices, elected by shura, serving the cohort for two-year terms.
